The idea
When animals are unwell, giving them a home and medical care transforms their lives. This can take the form of an immediate medical intervention or lifelong care.
Julie had ear cancer, and with early intervention, she is now cancer free! When Diamond was rescued, many were keen to adopt her, but when her heart condition was discovered, nobody wanted her.
When Blessing was found, his face had sores caused by his immune system attacking him. We adopted him, and with lifelong care, he can enjoy a normal life with his new siblings.
As for our dog CEO Dillion, we adopted him, knowing that his nerves were deteriorating, so we tried to delay its progress with hydrotherapy and medication.
Our cat CEO Rabbit was almost PTS for looking like he is "dying" and for being FIV+. Who would have imagined how handsome he is now!
We also run the Rahula FeLV Sanctuary for FeLV+ cats.
We adopted Snow White despite the heavy vet fees because her "rescurer" wanted to PTS her if no one adopts her!
Rescue work takes a minute, but the follow-up work is a lifelong commitment. We launch the Gold-D calendars to help cover part of our vet fees.
Donut Theme - Food For Thought
The theme for Gold-D 2024 calendar is donuts inspired by the Gold-D Food for Thought program that documents different aspects of rescue work and animal welfare. Each topic is represented by a donut.
